7.4 Surface integrals
7.5 Applications of multiple integration
Vector Calculus GB Chapter 8, 4-5 weeks

8.1 Vector fields
8.2 Line integrals
8.3 Vector operators: div, grad and curl
8.4 Operator identities
8.5 Divergence theorem (Gauss)
8.6 Green's theorem and Stokes' theorem
8.7 Applications, including an introduction to fluid motion

Grading:

30% Homework
30% Midterm (on Multiple Integration) in class, date TBA
40% Final (comprehensive, emphasis on Vector Calculus) 9 - 11 am March 21, 2002
No late homework or make-up exams except for excused absences.
You may discuss homework problems, but every student is expected to write up his/her homework individually - failure to do so may result in loss of credit.
